i) How do see yourself connected with what the company does?
Intel Corporation produces semiconductor chips and inventor of x86 series of microprocessors found in most of our computers. This is the company that makes devices related to communications and computing. I find it very interesting and I want to learn more about how their company improve their products through research and how these innovations come about.
ii) What wow and unwow you about the company?
What wowed me about Intel is that they are able to come out with so much innovations to improve the current technology and they are actually the first company to create the world's first commercial microprocessor chip. What wowed me about Applied Materials is that they have been the number one supplier of equipment to the chip making industry since the early 1990s.

iii) What hat was your impression of the company before and after the research?
My impression of Intel before my research was that they were just a company that produces processors only but after my research I realised that they have actually contributed a lot to our communications and computing and that their innovations have come in very handy and useful. I have not heard of Applied Materials before but after my research I found out that they are a big company who has been the number one supplier of equipment to the chip making industry since the early 1990s and I did not know that they can be such a big MNC with almost no presence in the consumer market.
iv) Can you give 3 examples of science principles being applied by the company?
Intel uses the principles of optics for their GPS and using concepts in chemistry to extract silicon and other metals for their computer chips and processors.Applied Materials uses optics in order to develop its solar photovoltaic products and flat panel displays.Concepts and theories in the field of chemistry are used in its semiconductor division, where it manufactures machines to carry out the primary steps in the production of semiconductors.
v) What are your expectations from this learning journey?
My expectations are that the learning journey must be meaningful and fun. The information must also be interesting and able to captivate our interest. I also want to learn more about their marketing strategies and how they advertise their products. I would also like to know more about their journey in becoming a big company and their difficulties they faced in managing the company..
